WhatsApp Business API Setup
Connect WhatsApp Business API to receive messages from customers on WhatsApp. You can use any phone number from any country.
Connect in one click
Go to Dashboard → Integrations → WhatsApp and press the Connect your WhatsApp button. Sign in with Meta, pick your WhatsApp Business number, and we set up the token, webhook subscription, and routing automatically. If Meta's window cannot finish the connection, write to support at hello@sipmind.net — we connect it on our side. The badge next to the title says the truth about the number: Connected — a number is routed to your account and receives messages; No number connected — a key is stored but no number is routed (for example, the WhatsApp Business account was unlinked at Meta), so nothing arrives: press Connect your WhatsApp again and pick the number. The number already in your WhatsApp Business account appears in Meta's list — no new code is needed.
Requirements:
- Meta Business Account (free)
- Phone number for WhatsApp (can be any country)
- Access to receive SMS or voice call for verification
What Meta charges, and the card it needs
- Since 1 October 2026 Meta charges for replies sent within 24 hours of a customer's message — the replies the AI sends. The first 1,000 a month per WhatsApp number are free; after that each reply is billed at the rate of the customer's country.
- Reminder and confirmation templates are paid from the first message; broadcasts cost more. Messages customers send you are always free.
- Meta bills your own WhatsApp Business account directly — SIPmind does not resell or mark up messages. Add a payment card in Meta Business Suite → Billing & payments → your WhatsApp Business account. Without one, Meta stops delivering paid messages once the free thousand is used up.
- The number must not be active in the WhatsApp app. If it is, delete the WhatsApp account in the app before connecting; the number stays yours.
- Current rates by country: WhatsApp Business Platform pricing.
Step by step:
- Open the button — Dashboard → Integrations → WhatsApp → Connect your WhatsApp.
- Sign in with Meta — with the Facebook account of a person who speaks for the business.
- Choose the business portfolio and the WhatsApp Business account — or create them in the same window.
- Add the number and confirm it — with the code Meta sends by SMS or a call.
- Finish — the number appears on the Integrations page. Send it a message from another phone; the AI answers within seconds.
A second number, your own Meta app, or a window that stops with an error: write to hello@sipmind.net — we connect it on our side. The whole walk, with the places it trips, is in Connecting WhatsApp step by step.
With several numbers, reminders, templates and follow-ups go out from the one chosen in Settings → Sending WhatsApp number. The list holds only numbers connected to this account. A reply to a customer leaves from the number they wrote to.
Pausing a number. On Integrations, press Edit on the number, untick Active and press Save: the AI stops answering on it and its messages stop arriving in Chats until you tick it again. The number stays connected to this account. If a change does not go through, the page says so instead of "saved".
Using your own Meta app?
Most businesses connect with the button above and need nothing else. If your number lives on a Meta app of your own — for white-label, dedicated billing or stricter data separation — write to hello@sipmind.net: we connect it on our side and tell you which keys go where.
Meta's limits, in short
- Replies to customers who wrote you: unlimited, free up to 1,000 a month per number.
- Writing first (templates): 250 different customers a day for a new business portfolio; 2,000 after business verification; then 10,000, 100,000, unlimited as quality holds.
- Calls in WhatsApp: Meta enables them from a limit of 2,000.
Webhooks
Nothing to configure in Meta's webhook settings — connecting the number with the button subscribes it to SIPmind.
